I remember the first time I saw Chromeo live – it was at the original Pemby Fest 8 years ago and they BLEW. MY. MIND. True, I was a somewhat naïve festival-goer but there were some big acts there and Chromeo stood out as a very memorable show; I danced a party hole in my shoe. So when I heard that they were coming to WSSF, I was pretty excited and promptly told everyone I know in an effort to spread the hype (and, truth be told, to assure I wouldn’t be dancing my heart out all alone).

If you don’t know who I am talking about, first of all, get with it. Second of all, I’m both sad and excited for you. Chromeo are a couple of cool guys from Montreal, David "Dave 1" Macklovitch and Patrick "P-Thugg" Gemayel. Their sound is described as electro-funk and is definitely influenced by the 80’s. Their debut hit ‘Needy Girl’ propelled them to international fame for good reason, the infectious beat and funky guitar riff combine to create a dance song for the ages.

Chromeo will be the crowning jewel on a Saturday of unreal music. If all goes according to (my) plan, the weather will be awesome, the friends will be plentiful, and the beer will be flowing on the GLC patio. I plan to post up at 11am when the GLC opens and spend the day running back and forth from my pint to the dance floor, also known as Skier’s Plaza.

Chromeo will be playing a DJ set at 8pm on Saturday, April 16 on the Main Stage at Skier’s Plaza. For the full music lineup, visit: http://wssf.com/2016-Event-Schedule
