Get to know one of the many talented State of the ART artists, Sonny A.K.A FRESCO!
Wed. Apr 5, 2017
At the age of 4, Sonny found is passion for art, while growing up in the northern interior ‘Caribou’ area of British Columbia and dove head first into everything art had to offer. He didn’t truly find his niche until ten years later, at the young age of 14. Sonny discovered the medium of Aerosol Paint and instantly fell in love with it. An aerosol can became an extension of his hand while he travelled the globe, continuing to test his creativity and hone his skills. As years went by Sonny grew and his taste in art changed. In 2008, he combined his aerosol paint knowledge with his new found passion of working with wood. Sonny started to create 3D Installations with fallen wood from trees. His 3D wood installations caught the attention of several music festivals worldwide and Sonny was asked to exhibit his work at their events.
Sky rocketing his art career, Sonny has been able to share what he loves most with the world, traveling to places like Australia, Central America and Europe. Now Sonny, with his original style, vision and eye for creativity has come back to his roots of B.C. to showcase his 3D wood Installations at the World Ski & Snowboard Festival during State of the ART.
State of the ART kicks off with its opening party on April 7th at the Whistler Conference Centre at 8:00 pm. The pop up art show runs from April 8th until April 14th from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
