Details: SWATCH ART+Soul continues the opportunity for local artists to share their work with the community and festival-goers from around the world. The show exposes the underbelly of mountain culture, going beyond landscapes and wildlife. Multiple mediums and dimensions, the art encompasses everything from canvas to skateboards. Creativity inspired by nature and sport goes beyond boundaries and into an out-of-bounds explosion of artistic expression for all to enjoy.

Monster Energy Boarderstyle World Championships

Tickets: FREE (lift pass required)
Time: 10:15am - 11:40am: TRAINING, 12:05pm - 1:30pm: TIMED RUNS, Approx. 4pm: FINALISTS ANNOUNCED
Location: Monster Boarderstyle is held at the Terrain Park Snowcross course located on Blackcomb Mountain. Weaving through the trees beneath the Solar Coaster Chairlift, the start of this competition can be accessed off of Springboard run with the finish line at the bottom of the Terrain Park Half Pipe. Monster Boarderstyle can only be accessed via skis or snowboard and requires a lift ticket. The course cannot be accessed on foot.
 
Details:Entering its 8th year, Monster Energy Boarderstyle has gone from being an experimental event to a legitimate tour poised to make its greatest impression to date. With four event stops and $50,000 in prize money, the one-of-a-kind snowboard contest conceptualized by Monster Energy Canada is charging through British Columbia. Watching the chaos or competing in it is only half the fun. Monster Energy won’t just show up, they’ll bring the party. Each Boarderstyle stop guarantees a legendary after party. Monster DJ’s will keep the party lit till there’s nothing left in the tank. Don’t be caught on the outside looking in, make sure you attend the Monster Energy Boarderstyle Tour 2018!

2nd Cuts Filmmaker Screening

Details:The 2nd Cuts Filmmaker Screening will be a screening of all of the completed films of 2018. The 2018 winner and finalists will be shown near the end of the screening. The ultimate voyeuristic experience for budding filmmakers, movie-lovers, and anyone with an interest in Whistler’s film community. A showing of all of the completed 72hr Filmmaker Showdown entrants, this is a don’t-miss event for friends, family, competitors, fans, and rivals.

Big Air (Ski)

Location: The Big Air competitions take place at the base of Whistler Mountain with free spectator viewing from Skier's Plaza in Whistler Village. 
 
Details: The World Ski and Snowboard Festival stages one of the world’s best Big Air competitions, drawing top athletes and passionate crowds in droves. The event attracts more than 18,000 spectators who witness some of the best riders in the world showcasing exactly what progression looks like as they launch off a massive jump at the base of Whistler Mountain. Watch the athletes lay it all on the line at the last Big Air competition of the year.

WSSF Music Series: A Tribe Called Red

Location: Music performances will be located adjacent to the finish area of the Big Air course at the base of Whistler Mountain in Skier's Plaza.
 
Details: Bursting forth from Canada’s capital, native Producer/DJ crew A Tribe Called Red is producing a truly unique sound that’s impacting the global electronic scene and urban club culture. Since 2010 the group – currently made up of DJ NDN, Bear Witness and 2oolman – has been mixing traditional pow wow vocals and drumming with cutting-edge electronic music. Their self-titled album, released in March 2012, was long-listed for Canada’s prestigious Polaris Music Prize and included in the Washington Post’s top 10 albums of the year.

Details: Intersection will once again push some chosen crews of the world’s artistic snow sports visionaries to their limits as they work to shoot, produce and edit a 5-7 minute ski/snowboard film in just 7 days. The result? Stunning artistic vision, impressive execution and a whole lot of shredding. All footage is required to come from within 100km of Whistler with 75% on-snow and contain 30 seconds of both park footage and in-bound WB terrain, making it a visual love letter to this inspiring world-class destination for snow sports and culture.
