Intersection is an event that pushes crews of artistic snow sports visionaries to their limits as they aim to create a masterpiece that truly captures the beauty of ski and snowboard culture.
Invited crews and one Wild Card selection, will have a 12-day window to shoot, edit, and submit a five to seven-minute winter action sports film. The show takes place April 8th at the Whistler Conference Centre where each film will be judged live, by a panel of industry experts and the audience!

Broken Nails
Coming in with a diverse skillset, we intend to showcase creative riding at its best. Sick tricks, sick vibes, sick angles, and broken nails.
Shmobb
Local crew of boarders from Whistler BC. We all met riding together in the mountains forming a bond that’ll last a lifetime on and off the hill. From contests to filming we are grateful to be doing it all while pushing the limits year after year. Live, laugh, love and snowboard 😉
The Freeloaderz
Vinz and I are steering this thing, with Garrett, Liam, Finn, and the rest of the crew along for the ride. We’re just a group of friends who ski and point cameras at each other until something cool or funny happens.

Entourage
Entourage is a ski crew of homies from Bozeman, Montana. We love repping who we are, creating films that feel unique, and riding the line between fried and productive.

We are a new crew of Sea to Sky based skiers and filmers who are dedicated to pushing deeper into the mountains and exploring new zones. Breaking hearts and breaking trail.

Our crew has been boarding and filming in Whistler for years and are deep in the local community. What defines us is that we’re an open crew, we’re a collective that welcomes anyone we cross paths with who can hang.
Meet The Judges
Sarah Oehm
Sarah has spent nearly a decade working in the outdoor industry and currently manages Sponsorships at Arc’teryx. She is deeply passionate about fostering connection within the outdoor community and preserving the culture of ski and snow sports, both through her work and in her personal life. Through snowboarding, Sarah has developed a strong connection to the mountains and the people who shape and define the sport.
Aaron Leyland
Aaron’s been filming in the whistler backcountry for the past 20 years.He loves exploring new terrain searching for the elusive combination of deep snow, sunlight and ridable features.
He’s excited to see what the next generation of filmers and riders will get upto in the coming year. And if anyone wants to get into filming or snowmobiling, drop him a line, he’ll point you in the right direction.
Alex Armstrong
Alex Armstrong, or as her friends call her, Army, is a professional big mountain skier based out of Squamish, British Columbia on the unceeded ancestral territories of the Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish) Nation. As an ex-ski racer from Ottawa, Ontario and ex-ski patroller, she combines her technical skiing skills and mountain sense to reach the high mountain peaks of Western Canada and shred them on the way down.
After self-producing the Skier Rich series and receiving a nomination for Female Performance of the Year at iF3 in 2021, Army has graced the big screen with the likes of Blank Collective and TGR
Jeff Schmuck
Jeff Schmuck is the Editor of Forecast Ski Magazine, Canada’s premiere skiing-focused media outlet, and is a well-known media figure in the sport of skiing. Originally from Rossland, British Columbia, but now based in Whistler, Jeff has been working in the ski industry for more than 20 years, during which time he’s travelled all over the world to cover countless film and photo shoots, along with nearly every major freeskiing event in existence, and has also served as the Head Judge of the iF3 Film Festival for over a decade.
Joey Kraft
Filmmaker based out of Pemberton, BC who is passionate about filming street, backcountry and park skiing, and enjoying a beer with friends after a day in the mountains.
Rules, Regulations, Guidelines
All films are to be shot, edited and submitted with the chosen 12-day period between February 19 – March 19, 2025. Only footage, animation, work during this time will be accepted. If there is any challenge or question of this, teams will be asked to submit raw footage/Meta Data for review.
Films must be a minimum of 5 minutes and a maximum of 7 minutes, including credits. It cannot be any shorter or longer or will face disqualification and will not be eligible to win awards. (Strict 7 minute cut off)
Film must be Family Friendly. (strict limits swearing and inappropriate behaviour)
Failure to include these essential elements will result in disqualification and film will not be eligible to win the Cash Prizes.
Finished work must be submitted to the Intersection Drop Off area at the GIBBONS OFFICES in the Westin. Final submissions CANNOT be handed in past 12pm ( NOON ) on designated date. If unable to make it in person, a Dropbox link will be provided.
For smooth playback the night of the event, filmmakers are required to export and submit their project based on the technical specifications outlined in the provided WSSF Tech Sheet.
Films MUST be free of any brand promotion, sponsorship titles and billboards wherever possible. Films that do not follow this policy leave themselves open for disqualification at the discretion of the Event Director.
The use of Drones MUST adhere to local and federal laws. No drones over the RMOW district or on Whistler Blackcomb.
